How tough is the human body?
How much weight can one carry?
How long can one withstand using a 42lbs demolition hammer?
How many times can one swing a 14lbs sledge hammer?
These are the few questions that went through my head for the past few days. I've been working with dad to hack floors and demolish walls of an apartment. Using the demolition hammer to hack the floors, the vibration and the weight the hammer itself is mad. Weighing 42lb, carrying the hammer up and down, up and down is extremely tiring. Next was to carry down the stones. Each sack of stones weigh at a minimum of 20 - 25 kilos and there are at least 1000 sacks. Luckily there are 5 - 6 workers to help or I would have ... died??? hahahah... LOL...

All these hard work, most of the workers at the construction site advises me to pursue better education for a better future. The stuffs they told me, you guys would have probably heard of it before. Well, remember those days when we were kids, and our parents used to tell us, "thak chea gao gao, pat tao cho ho kang, ah bo tiok ki sau sampah". LOL... Anyway, whether its an easy job or a hard one, someone has gotta do it and if all people begin to think that a better education would definitely guarantee a better future, I suggest you better wake up. No doubt education may grant you an easier job in a more relaxing and comfortable environment, the pay that you get may not necessarily compete or even match half of what these people earn.
Another issue is education abroad. With the Australian Dollar appreciating again at RM3++, it is gonna cost a bomb to study there. Some say that its not worth it and that it's a waste of money while others say its the chance and opportunity, the experience and the exposure to differing culture but I say it is just a privilege. Studying abroad is not a necessity although some may argue that the degree would somehow be better compared to the ones obtained locally. Studying locally be it a private uni or a local, government supported one, whether its in Penang, KL or in Perlis, one should never feel ashamed. Keep in mind that you are not lacking in any sort as compared to them, education wise. To me it is just a luxury that one can afford to travel and at the same time pursue education. Anyhow, its very much debatable as some may have plans to migrate abroad. Hmmm... what says you???
