Are there no better colleges in Penang?

>> Monday, December 21, 2009

Time flies and I know you hear this all the time. People talking about how fast a year has gone by without any notice. So its time to think about how this year went by, what happen and what didn't, what could have and wouldn't have happened. Well, this year was an interesting year for me. At last, I have completed my Diploma in Business. I thought that it would be a very special day but it wasn't. It was just an ordinary day, a day just like any other day. I mean come on, I've been thinking and wanting to leave KDU 6 months after I'm in that college and finally I'm out of it. But still, Woohooo... it means I'm on my path to my degree now.

Talking about my degree. Well, Finance and Economics would be the perfect majors for me. At least I think it fits me. Sadly, such a program doesn't exist or it does but there is none here in Penang. Guess I will have to settle with Accounting and Finance. I thought to myself, "well... accounting, how bad can that be? Worst that can happen is that I'll grow grey hairs when I reach the age of 35 trying to balance out the balance sheet." Hahaha... Either that or I'll pull out all my hairs trying to figure out the budget. LOL

Anyway, I went to Disted's open day which was held recently. Upon a recommendation from a friend/mentor, I was suppose to consult someone. Sadly, that someone was busy counseling another potential student so I was assigned to two young ladies. Let me be straight up with you guys, I really really really thought they (the two young ladies) are from the marketing department. When they told me they are the actual lecturers for the program, I was actually quite stunned and ... yeah, I was totally stunned. There is no reason for me not to be stunned when you find out the conversation that we had.

I asked them a few questions. Most important question is definitely what program do they have to offer? Well, straight on from that moment, they kept on yapping about their Staffordshire program and continue to persist that its a program from the UK. It was as if the whole selling point of the program was that it is from the UK. I mean awww... I've been through this before and I was beginning to get annoyed.

I proceed, a program from the UK huh? Well, KDU has a program from the UK too. If I'm not mistaken, according to the Times Good University Guide ranking, Staffordshire stands at 70++. On the other hand, Keele stands at 40++ on the same ranking chart. So, is ranking important? Does it really makes any significant differences? They said it is without elaborating further. Obviously, they were not trying that hard to convince me to sign up for their program. By saying that it is and stop there is no difference from telling me that, "yeah, the program in KDU should be better." So now, do you understand why I was stunned when they told me that they are the lecturer? And ohhh, I almost forgot. I did asked them about the lecturer to student ratio, the permanent lecturer to part-timer ratio to which they replied, "Don't worry." Wonderful! Just what I need to hear.

Arghhh!!!! Are there no better colleges here in Penang? Seriously, is INTI my best bet? I've to consider this matter through and through and hope I don't make a mistake and end up just like what happen in KDU, too high of an expectation made of me, too low of a perceived quality delivered.

P/s: Dollhouse is getting better and better. I just love it. Fox TV is very dumb to not renew it for a new season. I am beginning to like all those weird weird movies. Recently, I downloaded the Matrix Trilogy, all the three movies in 3 days. It was and still is an awesome movie, provided you get the whole hardware and software, real world and the matrix thingy and the storyline.

An interesting conversation

>> Saturday, December 12, 2009

Are human born stupid or is stupidity developed from a sum of experiences? As far as my memory serves me, I could still recall that one of my course mates joked about an 8th sin which is stupidity. Hahaha, guess Jesus might have missed this one out while listing out the numbers of sins. [No offense to any Christians and I hope none are taken. No intention to ridicule any religion, its just another stupid joke] Anyway, I am just talking nonsense, so forgive me. Perhaps I am just a little bored. I tried to watch Dollhouse but the video doesn't seem to buffer. The connection will just disconnect any second. I guess the culprit is none other than the ultra unreliable and super slow Streamyx.

So, while staying online, I had this conversation with my friend. She is a bit cuckoo at times. Hmmm... she said that all men are "chin tok" (very evil in hokkien). "Tok" in hokkien language may also mean poisonous. So I'm taking a different perspective here and understanding that she meant "evil" but translating it as "poisonous". So I said to the wise lady, "so if all men are evil, then all women are stupid". The simplest explanation to my reply to her is that, "if women know and are aware that men are "evil/poisonous", why are there still so many women crying and chasing after evil/poisonous men?" Well, doesn't it make any sense to you? If you know that something is evil/poisonous or say that its something arsenic, would you still dare to take it and face the death penalty of dying due to poisoning? If you have a rationale mind, my guess is you wouldn't. But the case here is, I am proven wrong because I believe and have seen with my own eyes, plenty of times, that plenty of women/girl are crying and chasing after evil/poisonous men. So that would only mean one thing, which is, women/girl are stupid.

Nevertheless, there is always the counter effect. The yin to the yang. The black and the white. [My nonsense again] This thing actually occur in both gender. There are also women who are "chin tok"(hahaha, pleasure in saying it) and men who are just ... grrrrr... I just want to smack their head. So that would make things equal, wouldn't you think so? which brings me to my conclusion, that ALL MEN AND WOMEN ARE BOTH EVIL AND STUPID. Hahahaha... or it could mean that love is blind, just like what Alicia Keys said in her song, "its too bad cause love is blind".

P/s: If you use Windows Live Messenger, you will see that there's an ad down below, TM Super Deal Package or something similar that encourage you to upgrade to a higher speed at a fraction of a cost. What the hell, do they seriously think we are stupid? I mean, those who really did upgrade their lines and paid that fraction of a cost, !@#$ you must have been extremely stupid or just plain dumb for letting them cheating you that fraction of a cost for what I think wouldn't be any improvement in their service. Anyhow, I am just stereotyping and somewhat pissed off cause I can't watch Dollhouse.

After more than a month of waiting since I applied for the degree program at INTI, I finally receive the offer letter yesterday. After more than a month of signing in into Gmail every single morning hoping to receive a reply from either INTI or Curtin, the wait is over. Upon receiving a call from INTI's staff, I rushed straight away to the campus to collect my offer letter. I was very anxious and pretty curious of the exemptions that might be granted. Now that the offer letter is in my hand, I am somewhat devastated. Sighhhh....

I was really hoping that I could at least be granted entry into year 2 but guess the people at INTI or Curtin is rather stingy. Grrrr!!! I only receive a 7 subject exemption which should equate to about slightly more than half a year. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I really don't know what I should do. The offer doesn't seem to be so attractive but by looking at the trend, I don't really think I can get a better offer elsewhere (except STUPID KDU). Well at heart, I really want to leave Penang and probably head down to KL but at mind, I kept questioning myself how much different would it be there or anywhere in Malaysia for that matter (except Australia). Geee... I'm so complicated!!!!! I still can't make up my mind. Anyway, that's for now, I'll keep you guys updated...

Yessssss... finally the Perodua Myvi has arrive. Well, hmmm... to be exact, the car arrived on last Friday. Hahaha... The first Perodua car in the family, the white colored Myvi SE with manual transmission which bears the same number plate like my dad's car. Hehehe... lol lol lol

Driving a manual car proves to be trickier than I thought. Its been like 3 years or so since I drove a manual transmission car except a few times of driving my friend's Toyota LE aka "bumblebee". While the clutch in her car is kinda weighted, the Myvi's clutch is extremely light which may be a good thing and a bad thing. Good thing is that your ankle wouldn't feel tired during massive traffic jams. However the bad thing is that there isn't much "feel" but I believe I'll get used to it. The other thing that I need to get used to is the light steering. All and all, not a bad car la... though I would still prefer the Satria Neo over this car. Nevertheless, practicality comes first, I need a 5 door hatch compared to the Satria. Whether I like it or not, I'm left with no choice. Its going to be my transport to INTI for the coming 2 and half years.

As usual, I've been doing nothing lately and if there is something that I did, its killing time, reading automotive forums and watching TV series online. Anyway, I find it amusing when I browse through and read threads...
about Perodua and Proton cars. I notice that there is a group of Proton loyalist/supporter (whom I think is very immmature) and a group of Perodua loyalist/supporter (who is equally if not more immature than the Pro-Protons). For those who follow the updates of our local automotive industry and for those who don't, I bet you'd know that there is this craze about the MultiPurposeVehicle war. As we all know, Proton launched their Exora not too long ago but Perodua will be launching their 5+2 seater vehicle, based upon the Passo Sette/Boon Luminas next week.

Hmmmm... the Pro-Protons are bashing up the soon to be launched, yet to launched Perodua MPV. You can see loads of negative comments or insinuations such as poor handling, tight third row seat and the lack of crash testing and etc etc etc. The Pro-Peroduas on the other hand would be bashing up the Exora for its poor reliability, underpowered engine and etc etc etc. Well, in my honest opinion, fighting over whose car is better is like saying that I've a BIGGER dick than yours. Geez... freedom of choice, freedom to purchase. If you feel that the Proton is better, then enjoy your drive and shut up. You don't have to give negative comments about the other car. And for god's sake, those Perodua supporters, can't you just love your Perodua and leave Proton alone. Give Proton a chance. Albeit at a slower pace compared to other automobile manufacturers from Korea or China, Proton is showing signs of improvement.

P/s: To all Perodua Myvi owners out there, there is a high probability that you might lose both your airbags one day. There is a suspected flaw in the car which enable car thieves to steal the airbags and hell they will cost an arm and a leg to be replaced. Malaysian car thieves sudah tentu Boleh!!! Stealing airbag...

Just another random update

>> Saturday, November 14, 2009

Hey, remember a few post ago I did say that a lot of my friend's birthday falls in the month of October? Well, it applies very much to the month of November too. This post comes in 2 days late. 2 days ago, or November 12 happens to the birthday of my good friend and ex-college mate, Ai Fern. So Happy Birthday, and though you're not in Malaysia, I do hope you had a blast over there. Yesterday, was my cousin's birthday. So Happy Birthday to my cousin too, Janice... you have a blast too.

So did I mention that my bike is in the workshop now? Sigh... well, that is the cost of owning a 15 years old bike. There's nothing much I can do about it, a new bike in Malaysia would cost at least RM50k so a RM20k plus 15 years old bike is all that my dad could afford for me. Anyhow, the reason it ended up in the workshop is due to a leaking oil seal on the final drive shaft. A small tiny rubber seal that prevents oil from leaking over to the shaft casing, and due to the rareness of the bike and the usage of parts of special sizes, its stuck in the workshop until at least Tuesday evening. Lets just pray and hope the bike will be repaired a.s.a.p.

Aiyaaa... I am damn lazy to update this blog la... haizzz... Anyway, nothing much to update you guys. Major stuffs include, my application for the degree program offered by INTI and dad selling off the sick Proton Waja. At first, I wanted to get the Proton Satria Neo, but dad protested saying that it was too cramp. Then we planned to get the Myvi with full accessories. Later, dad changed his mind, he wanted the Myvi Wagon, some say Alza. Then today, we changed our mind again, and at last, we are getting the Myvi SE, Manual solid white in colour. The car is expected to arrive by next week or in about 10 to 12 days time.

I went out with a bunch of my classmates from SXI on Saturday night. We visited this place called Zenzibar or something like that at UPR. 4 towers, 2 beers and 2 cocktails. Whatever it is, I really outdone myself this time... mabuk kao kao... hahahaha.

So, will update you guys soon about my INTI application and my new car.

This year is not the same like last year. In fact, the years coming will never be the same like last year.

>> Monday, November 02, 2009

Whoa..... its been such a long time since I update. Guess nothing much is really happening in my life lately. I'm not working and neither am I studying. I am just slacking away. Anyway, a birthday wish to my own self first, LOL... I am 20 now, still very very young. I'm eagerly waiting for the next 365 days, 52 weeks, 12 months or a year to be precise for my 21st birthday before getting the key everyone is talking about. And one more thing, thanks a lot to all those who wished me (appreciate it very much), and more thanks to the friends (07, March and June) who celebrated with me.

I've bought the Puma shoe I promised myself. I am very very happy until I found out that there's a sticker with a statement "Made in China" on the side of the shoe box. Argh!!!!! My Puma shoe is made in China. Why??? Its not that I can't accept that its made in China, but its China that we are talking about. Duhhh!!! I am starting to talk crap and make no sense here. By all means I am not anti-China, I finally come to terms with the made in China thingy. I keep telling myself, what is not made in China nowadays, nothing.

The Speed Cat 2.9 Winter (whatever that is)

I'm planning to get another reward for myself. A new helmet from Givi. Well, I couldn't afford the Airoh Mathisse RS that I wished for last year so I've to be satisfied with a demi-jet from Givi. Launched on the Saturday night after the MotoGP Sepang qualifying session, I still couldn't find any of the helmets being display at any shops. I did ask the shop owner (an authorised Givi dealer, who happened to receive one free helmet for attending the launch), and according to him, the helmet wouldn't arrive until for at the least the next 2 weeks. I am so going to wait patiently for the helmet.

Been fishing a lot lately. Guess my birthday really brings me luck. Caught a lot of swamp crabs and catfish (aka sembilang or 'tohsat'). Seafood dinner every night for the past 4 night d. Yummy. Will upload the pics of the catch soon.

Crazy birthday wishes

>> Monday, October 26, 2009

Hmmm.... how should I reward myself this year? My birthday is just in a few days time and I can't think of anything to buy for myself. Well, maybe there are a few things, but sigh... they are way beyond my reach, financially speaking. Hahaha... The newly launched Honda CB1100 [ABS], Yamaha's boat W-19GH fully imported from Japan, all the things that I wish for are all big boy toys, costing tens of thousands each. Here I am, the weird teenager who wishes for crazy things and not what typical teenagers would like such as a PS 3 or a MacBook. Hahaha... and here I am just day dreaming...but I am telling myself, I am going to give myself 10-12 years to get all these.

Since I know that I wouldn't get what I wish for this year, and considering that I've laid eyes on a new pair of shoes from Puma, I think I'll just get them as a present for myself. Will upload the pic of the shoe once I buy them...

EveryoneConnects.net is so popular recently with their song, Through My Window. While I like the song, I love the adverts that TM made using that song even more. So cute... I feel like I'm the poor guy cut out of paper, hahaha... Anyway, kudos to those who came out with the idea... Superbly creative...

Work hard, work smart, no need to work??? >>> Education???

>> Friday, October 23, 2009

How tough is the human body?
How much weight can one carry?
How long can one withstand using a 42lbs demolition hammer?
How many times can one swing a 14lbs sledge hammer?

These are the few questions that went through my head for the past few days. I've been working with dad to hack floors and demolish walls of an apartment. Using the demolition hammer to hack the floors, the vibration and the weight the hammer itself is mad. Weighing 42lb, carrying the hammer up and down, up and down is extremely tiring. Next was to carry down the stones. Each sack of stones weigh at a minimum of 20 - 25 kilos and there are at least 1000 sacks. Luckily there are 5 - 6 workers to help or I would have ... died??? hahahah... LOL...

All these hard work, most of the workers at the construction site advises me to pursue better education for a better future. The stuffs they told me, you guys would have probably heard of it before. Well, remember those days when we were kids, and our parents used to tell us, "thak chea gao gao, pat tao cho ho kang, ah bo tiok ki sau sampah". LOL... Anyway, whether its an easy job or a hard one, someone has gotta do it and if all people begin to think that a better education would definitely guarantee a better future, I suggest you better wake up. No doubt education may grant you an easier job in a more relaxing and comfortable environment, the pay that you get may not necessarily compete or even match half of what these people earn.

Another issue is education abroad. With the Australian Dollar appreciating again at RM3++, it is gonna cost a bomb to study there. Some say that its not worth it and that it's a waste of money while others say its the chance and opportunity, the experience and the exposure to differing culture but I say it is just a privilege. Studying abroad is not a necessity although some may argue that the degree would somehow be better compared to the ones obtained locally. Studying locally be it a private uni or a local, government supported one, whether its in Penang, KL or in Perlis, one should never feel ashamed. Keep in mind that you are not lacking in any sort as compared to them, education wise. To me it is just a luxury that one can afford to travel and at the same time pursue education. Anyhow, its very much debatable as some may have plans to migrate abroad. Hmmm... what says you???

Now what did I say about kids nowadays. You tell them something, they do another thing. But this, the kid did this? Well, I don't know what to say... why don't you check this vid out, listen carefully to the dialogue and let me know what you've to say about it. Anyway, smart kid.

Operator: 911 emergencies.
Boy: Yeah I need some help.
Operator: What’s the matter?
Boy: With my math.
Operator: With your mouth?
Boy: No with my math. I have to do it. Will you help me?
Operator: Sure. Where do you live?
Boy: No with my math.
Operator: Yeah I know. Where do you live though?
Boy: No, I want you to talk to me on the phone.
Operator: No I can’t do that. I can send someone else to help you.
Boy: Okay.
Operator: What kind of math do you have that you need help with?
Boy: I have take aways.
Operator: Oh you have to do the take aways.
Boy: Yeah.
Operator: Alright, what’s the problem?
Boy: Um, you have to help me with my math.
Operator: Okay. Tell me what the math is.
Boy: Okay. 16 take away 8 is what?
Operator: You tell me. How much do you think it is?
Boy: I don’t know, 1.
Operator: No. How old are you?
Boy: I’m only 4.
Operator: 4!
Boy: Yeah.
Operator: What’s another problem, that was a tough one.
Boy: Um, oh here’s one. 5 take away 5.
Operator: 5 take away 5 and how much do you think that is?
Boy: 5.
Woman: Johnny what do you think you’re doing?!
Boy: The policeman is helping me with my math.
Woman: What did I tell you about going on the phone?
Operator: It’s the mother…
Boy: You said if I need help to call somebody.
Woman: I didn’t mean the police.

Pain... I went through hell in the past two days

>> Friday, October 09, 2009

First and foremost, Happy birthday to my blogger friends/ex-coursemates, Su-Lyn and Fiona. I wish them best of luck in all their future undertakings and may all their wishes come true.

That's it... and now back to me. PAIN. That is all I've felt for the past two days. PAIN. Having decided to change my orthodontist, I should have seen this coming. I was very much well aware of the consequences, being told that another 3 teeth extraction is required. Despite that, I went ahead with it. I went ahead cause I've had it with my previous orthodontist. I'm not going to reveal much here but I'm just going to ask you just one question. How can you still get your treatment from a doctor that hide things from you and not being honest with it?

Anyway, I've to say, this new orthodontist which also happens to be my dad's friend is awesome. She may not be as well known as Dr Looi but I'm pretty sure I'm under good hands. I think I'll get the results that I want and I'm really looking forward to it.

I had 2 teeth extracted yesterday. I don't think I've to mention the pain again. Scaling is also very very painful. It couldn't stop bleeding for hours and I had to return to clinic to have something stuff inside my gum. The bleeding then stops for a couple hours and it resumes again during midnight, causing stains all over my pillow. I didn't sleep through the night, having to bite a gauze to stop the bleeding and it finally stopped at 10 a.m this morning. If you're wondering why I am ranting so much, I didn't ate a single thing the entire night. I couldn't. 11 am and I am back to my orthodontist to fix back the wires. I notices that she uses a different technique. Anyhow, the pain is still there. In fact it got worse after the wires are fixed. We'll see how it goes, another teeth to be extracted next week.

P/s: If you're wearing dental braces currently, and if you're a patient of Dr. Looi, mind if I suggest you to get a second opinion from another orthodontist. Consult another person and see what he/she has to say about what Dr Looi has done for you. Maybe he/she could point out a thing or two that Dr Looi might have missed out.

David's party

OCTOBER... If I'm not mistaken, most of my friends and the people I know are born in the month of October. Every year, throughout the entire month, I'm expected to receive lots and lots of mails from Friendster and Facebook reminding me of my friends birthday. That said, speaking for myself, I'm also an October baby. Anyway, today, October 4 happens to be the birth day of one of my ex-classmates and friend, David Yap. Besides that, today also happens to be the one year anniversary of me being really drunk and kinda wasted and damnnn..., I've been blogging for a year already now. Hmmm... I could still remember, my very first post in the previous blog (which is now defunct) was a day after David's birthday party.

Anyhow, I'll be blogging about David's birthday party again. If we had the party at the beach last year (which was freaking messy, sticky and yucky; a big LOL), this year, David rented a service apartment. How's that for a start? Hehehe... Instead of the sea breeze, we opted for the air conditioner. The chill box was not needed this year, we've a fridge. Hahaha... and not forgetting the convenience of relieving ourselves in a toilet (using the toilet at the atap house cafe/bistro behind Paradise Hotel at a cost of 20 cents last year, which is another big LOL).

Going to the food now. If we took our dinner at Northam Beach Cafe last year, this year we ate in the service apartment. 8 large sized pizzas from Domino, lots of cream puffs, a big portion of fried maggi (courtesy of David's mom) and definitely loads of junk food Twisties to kacang tanah Cap Tangan, hahaha...

For the drinks, we have a few bottles of carbonated drinks, a carton of Oranjeboom lager beer and 3 bottles of liquor. But I've got to say, I really really enjoyed the beers. Oranjeboom can kick some ass, LOL. For the cakes, there were no cakes this year. There is a cake, but it was smashed all over David's face, hahaha... it happens every year, its becoming a tradition.

What I like about the party:
Meeting friends, some that I've lost contact with since secondary school
The card game, and ping pong piang
Definitely the beer

What I dislike about the party:
Fucking braggers
Investment seller??? WTH???
Childishness, immaturity... (a big LOL)

P/s: Just helping a friend. Ladies, you might wanna check out http://the-loopz.blogspot.com/ for their opening promotion.

Work hazard OR Injury prone?

>> Monday, September 28, 2009

After much thought, I am back in helping my dad with his work. Come to think of it, working outside, inside an office, being a clerk or assistant, be it a marketing or admin job with my current qualification (a diploma holder *who doesn't speak or write chinese*) wouldn't offer me a reasonable pay too. RM20 for 4 hours, and I still need to look at the supervisor's face. Ya right, as if... That said though, it doesn't imply that I'm getting a lot from working with dad and I still get yelled at. Hahaha...

It's been some time too since I last helped him with his work. 2 years I think. Throughout my entire diploma course, I didn't really offered any help at the work site. Anyway, being back after a long break I'm kinda rusty. Body ache, pain at the joints, all and all... tiring. Besides that, I'm not as good as I was previously. Perhaps I've forgotten all the advice. Below are a list of injuries that I've sustained being back at work site in the past 2 weeks.

1. Accidentally punctured my hand with a nail

2. Accidentally cut my hand with a rusty piece of roof zinc

3. Accidentally cut and poke my knee with reinforced concrete netting

4. Accidentally burned my hand with a hot steel rod

Well, like what they always say, accident happens... SHIT HAPPENS... lol

Sorry's Not Enough [The American Mall]

I'm sorry can't save a heart
When it breaks and scattered in the wind
How can two worlds cover the half
The others been living in

Oh I never believed I'd ever need
Any more than I did before

When sorry's not enough
There's nowhere left to turn
Too much to forgive
Tell me where is the answer
How do you find the strength
The strength to let it go
We need to just to leave
When sorry's not enough

Love can fall hard
Leaving the scar that remembers
How bad it burns
We won't pretend where next time begins
Cause we need just to live and learn

Although now I believe that I'm gonna need
A little more than I did before

Sorry's not enough
There's nowhere left to turn
Too much to forgive
Tell me where is the answer
How do you find the strength
The strength to let it go
We need to just to leave
When sorry's not enough

No there's no going back
And tomorrow is all we're gonna have
So we will have

Sorry's not enough
There's nowhere left to turn
Too much to forgive
Tell me where is the answer
How do you find the strength
The strength to let it go
We need to just to leave
Oh just to leave baby
Sorry's not enough

The past 10 days...

>> Saturday, September 19, 2009

Its been quite a long time since I last posted. Hmmm... well, nothing really interesting is currently happening in my life. No college, no assignment, less work, less outing. So basically, I am just wasting my precious time rotting at home.

Anyhow, a few things that did happened in the past 10 days are:-

1. Proton Waja. My brother got into an accident. The entire front bumper is crack/broken. The front right panel is also dented. Luckily both the front headlight and fog lamps were not broken during the collision. A new bumper and fixing up the dent cost about RM600. Well, the driver of the other car agreed to pay half for the damages. The car is out of the workshop now but somehow you can now notice the new paint job compared to the original paint job.

2. My sunglasses. My brother broke it. He "borrowed" it but because he was not used to wearing glasses, it fell to ground. Due to his lazy heavy ass nature, instead of coming down from the bike and pick it up, he push the bike and ran over the glasses. Both the frame and polaroid lenses crack. Haizzz...

3. I got two job offers, both which I refuse. Its a job related to marketing and sales. The company that you're representing is Brand's chicken essence. LOL. The moment I heard its Brand's chicken essence, 3 days at Tesco and 3 days at Sunshine, I said NO wayyy... Another job offer was to work as a clerk on temporary basis, 2 weeks contract, a 8 - 5 work at Bayan Lepas. Pay rate was at RM6 per hour. Somehow, I think I am plain lazy, I said no too.

Well, that's about it I guess. The things that happened in the past 10 days of my life. Hahaha... until the next update... I do take this opportunity to wish all my Muslim friends, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri... bye.......

The moment I claim that I don't have any interesting things to blog about, this video pops out. Hahahaha... I've to say, this is one of the best video made by the people of 15 Malaysia. It clearly projects the rakyat, the people, how we the citizen of Malaysia think about certain issues. 4 issues highlighted in the video were football (the issue of patriotism), the English language (the matter of race identity), party hopping (the case of integrity and honesty) and the perception of what is Malaysia (the political arena). Do watch this video, its worth your time. Enjoy...

The main actor in the video, KJ, so termed by me the new Malay leader is superb in this video. Jason, hahahaha... don't be freaked out. That other actor, Mandarin speaking Malay, is a true 1 Malaysia example. Amber is too hot, no wonder the passenger "jumped" taxi. And the Namewee guy... all and all, have a good laugh...

A lot failures recently.

My Yamaha 110 is not running smoothly. The "slow jet" could be clogged by dirty fuels. (still not fixed)

The bolts for my top box on my Honda 650 Revere are missing. The nuts must have gotten loose due to vibrations. (still not fixed)

First encounter with RON95 fuels, NOT GOOD.
Dad's 1300 was running smoothly up until we filled up the tank with RON 95 petrol. The bike should be running fine, owner's manual stated that the minimum RON requirement is 91. However, there is something wrong with the bike now. It could be the spark plug, or maybe clogged injectors. I am just praying and hoping its not something major like an ignition system failure or a faulty CDI unit. *fingers crossed*

1 year and still going...

>> Friday, August 28, 2009

Today marks the first anniversary of working at Symphony BCSIS as a temp. Well, I have to say, I kinda love that place now. I like the working environment, the jokes and slanders while working. I feel comfortable with all the people there. I've befriended most if not all the workers over there. Being the youngest there, though at times they make me feel tiny, it doesn't matter as we respect one another. Haiz, I really am missing all those times working in Symphony. You're probably guessing why I am talking so much about my job. Well, its because I was introduced to a new working place, similar task and responsibility but with major workload. I hate that place. Its a place for data entry zombies and programmable robots. You don't have freedom, you feel isolated and you don't get credits or recognition. Your colleagues don't even know your name. You tell me, what kinda working environment is that?

Skipping the job at the new place today, I went to Symphony. Reaching there kinda early, I glance through the temp log book, noticing that my first day as a data entry temp at Symphony was 28 August, the same date as today but a year ago. I could still remember how silly I was back then, entering account numbers as PIS amounts. LOL. I really made that lady pull her hairs off. Hahahaha...Many people has left that place though. There are fewer assignments now, less temps working. 8 to 12 times a month, now its reduced to only 2. 6 to 7 temps a year ago, now only 2 temps. But that only means one thing. Attention and recognition, which I really enjoy. LOL... hahahaha...

Alright then. That's about it. Before the end of this post, I just wanna say, it doesn't what job you do. It doesn't matter how much you're paid. All that matters is that you love your job and you enjoy doing it.

and...

I've been watching Dollhouse lately. Kinda addicted to it. Echo, the main character played by Eliza Dushku (hot) is an active, a programmable doll, that can be imprinted with different persona and sent out to their customers, or what they call as engagement. The other character, Sierra is also hot... LOL... played by Dichmen Lachman. You guys should try to watch it. The story line is kinda messy, but once you get it, you'd love it.

Fishing, under extreme weather condition

>> Sunday, August 23, 2009

This is my first post about fishing in this new blog. Sunday, August 23; It was a rainy Sunday morning. I woke up at about 8 a.m and went out for breakfast (yummy, Dim Sum)at about 9 a.m. Reaching home at about 10.30 a.m, despite the heavy rain... me and dad decided to go fishing. Geez... I've to admit, it's damn cold. Well, with the sky keep pouring down and the sea condition that wasn't so forgiving, we headed out to the middle of sea and lay our nets.

First round, 5 threadfins. Second round 9 threadfins. Third round, the final round was disastrous. Somehow, the net caught a fish rack or maybe a sunken boat and it tore the whole net. Out of 18 pieces of nets, 2 pieces were totally destroyed by that unknown object. But luckily, there was a consolation. Half a catty of big prawns(unexpected), 2 threadfins and hell a big red snapper(BIG surprise). The red snapper is totally unexpected, and for a size that big to be caught on our nets is rather remarkable considering that the nylons are kinda thin. Wonderful!!! RM 200 worth of nets destroyed, RM20 worth of red snapper and RM50 worth of threadfin (prawns excluded), the fun from this crazy fishing trip under extreme weather condition, PRICELESS. Hahaha...

The unlucky snapper or the lucky me?

P/s: To all country music lovers, you might want to check Mallary Hope out in Youtube. She is very talented.

I NEED A JOB BADLY!!! HELP ME FIND A JOB!!!

>> Thursday, August 20, 2009

I need a job badly now. I've been rotting at home for quite some time now. I can't continue on like this. Hell, I'm wasting time, my time... my precious time. I need to fill up my time with useful activity or something that is at the very least is beneficial to me. Perhaps a short course to brush up my English? Or a short course to further improve myself (anger management)? Someone even suggested that I go for guitar lessons. LOL... I'd love to, but then... arghh... its difficult to explain. Well, from how I see it, guitar lessons aren't bad... [according to my friend who gave that genius suggestion, can help me woo girl wor...] Hahaha... Classic, living in 80's are we? Wooing girls with guitar? Duh!!! Heck, I can't picture myself strumming a guitar for a girl. LOL... Not that I won't do it if I know how to, just... arghh... its difficult to explain.

I need a job badly. Help me find a job. I don't care if the salary is low, hell I might not even care if they don't pay me... I'm just looking for an opportunity to learn. Haiiiiizzzzz.... I've completed watching the entire series of Cupid. 7 episodes all together. Not bad I've to say. Kinda funny... the Cupid guy. And the songs they play on the background, great songs. You might want to check it out at Sidereel.com.

A lot of things are going on lately. A war declared on my orthodontist. I hate the housing project developer (not going to mention who). I can't decide where to study and which uni to pick. I need a break... and when I say break, I mean help me find a job. PLEASE...!!! I beg you...!!! Hahahaha...

FWAKKK, I am a digrace to myself...

>> Friday, August 14, 2009

Sigh... I am really sad about my results. Well, I was obviously very shocked with what I've achieved. Hmmm... they claimed that I did badly for my finals which affected the whole GPA for the subject. But I do wonder at times, how bad could I have done to deserve this? Come on, 25.1 for my finals. Shit... this is real shit. I barely passed my finals for the first time in my entire diploma? And its for a freaking paper which is so dumb? Well, I don't really care anymore. I am tired being concerned about every single thing related to college. Fwak them!!! I don't care if you're gonna reassess my papers and change the grade, for better or for worse whichever case that may be. I don't freaking care anymore if my CGPA dropped and deteriorated so badly. I just have a few things to say. ONE THING IS FOR SURE though, I can shout to the whole wide world that I am out of that shitty place and I am no longer related to that college anymore. I AM NO LONGER A STUDENT OF KDU COLLEGE, Penang campus!!! Wooo hoo...

Few things I want to say. I truly regretted my actions. Well, I am really pissed off with myself for listening to that bitch. Any way you guys see this, I don't give a damn if you feel that I really did badly and is putting the blame on the lecturer or the second marker. I regretted my actions for following every freaking instructions, that bitch's instructions on how to answer the paper. I fwakking regret it. It made me looked like a fool for listening to her and did so badly for the exam. Hell, if I had not listen to her, I guess I'd have done better. Even if I did not fared well by doing things my way, the least was I won't look or even feel like a fool. Arghhhh!!!!

For what its worth, I should be ashamed with myself. Well, I am partially at fault here but I did gave it my best shot. I tried my fwakking best and now, I feel as if I've let down everyone, every single friends or peers who thought that I'd have done well. Fwakkk, it seems to me that, in my very own perception, I am a disgrace to my secondary school. A DISGRACE. Haiz... I wonder how long its going take for me to get over this.

Meanwhile;

I NEED TO FIND A JOB.
I WANT TO GO TO AUSTRALIA FOR MY DEGREE.
I AM ADDICTED TO GOSSIP GIRL (the drama series)
I am off to bed to get my afternoon nap now.

ARGGHHHHH...

I AM STILL PISSED OFF WITH MY RESULTS...

Turn Back Time

>> Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I said I wanted to have a long holiday before I begin with my degree or any other works. Well, even before the holidays for my diploma-mates are over, I am dying of boredom at home. LOL. Every single day that I wake up to, its the same old routine of waking up, taking breakfast and sit my lazy bump on the chair, facing this 2 years old antique laptop, browsing sites such as thestar.com.my, malaysiakini.com, chan lilian's blog, anil's blog and some good old fashion malay daily, bharian.com.my. Don't ask me why, I don't know why. Guess being CK explains why I am so attracted to reading the news, keeping myself updated to the most current issues relating to politics, economics and society. Hmmm... anyway, there nothing bad about it right? I don't want to be ill-informed about the current issues. Hahahaa...

Continuing from keeping myself updated to the news, I proceed to browse sidereel.com. For your info, its a site where you can check on your favorite tv series such as one tree hill, CSI, CSI Miami, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Prison Break, Supernatural and the likes. Hmmm... coming to this site to stream for previous episode its kinda tough too. Well, I can't decide which series to watch. All I can think of is, CSI, NCIS or Criminal Minds. Heck, I think I'm really attracted to murder, rape, the authority, investigations, court cases and the likes. Hahaha...

That made think a lot recently. I wonder where I would be now if I'd actually taken up law instead of business, following the advice of many of my previous secondary school teacher to me. The advice is still fresh in mind, the ones from Datin and LKL suggesting law to me. Sigh... if only I could turn back time.

Anyhow, I made a list of things I would do if I could turn back time.

1. If I could turn back time, I would have really taken up law. Serious, no joke. I like law. Law and order is what makes me and you human, though that may not be the case all the time. Law today means it protects those politically and economically powerful. And I think I'd have done well if I'd taken up law. Come on, its inherent in me that I enjoy arguing, debating, bickering just to prove that I'm right. CK is always right, right? Hahahaha... (okayla, maybe not)

2. If I could turn back time, I would really want to know her earlier and I would really want to know her better. Well, by all means, she is not a subject for me to study or learn. I just wish I knew her better as I don't have the chance now. Maybe the chance is still there, perhaps I'm too coward to take up that chance. Well, its the past. Nothing that I say now is gonna change the past. I just wished I had said the things that matters most during the time when it mattered most. Sigh...

3. If I could turn back time, I don't wanna be weird la. Hahahaha. I do really think I am weird. Well, I know each individual is unique as itself. But I am just plain weird. I just can't explain it. Arghhh!!! What am I talking about? Just change.

4. If I could turn back time, I really would want to apologize to all I've hurt or insinuated. Whatever I said or did, I was just being CK. Heck, I probably didn't mean what I said at that time. I was might be stressed out or pissed off.

That's all I could think of. I mean if I could turn back time, that wouldn't be all that I'd want to do. There could be more, I just couldn't think of it now.

SICK...

>> Wednesday, August 05, 2009

What have I said. Look at me now. I am so sick now I can barely walk up the stairs to my room. Fever, flu, muscle ache, coughing, all the wonderful symptoms of the so called selsema babi or Influence A[H1N1]. 2 days. I have only 2 days. If my condition is still bad, then I need to be admitted to the hospital for antiviral medication.

Next thing, there wouldn't be any graduation for me this year. Nope. Not this coming August 16. Why? Well, the college couldn't manage to finalize our diploma marks in time for the graduation. Despite having promised to let us graduate and get the diploma certificate this August 16 previously, they now say they couldn't do it. A lot of people was damn furious and I've received many calls asking me to go college and go fight. Duh!!! Its KDU. No matter how good you are at fighting, you end up losing. And I don't really mind not getting that diploma certificate. All I need is my result.

Something to share with you guys. That's if you can understand. Hahaha...

I reckon I won't live past 35, if I continue with the current lifestyle

>> Sunday, August 02, 2009

If my current lifestyle continues, and if I allow it to go on, I reckon I won't live past 35. My oh my, I am freaking less than 20 but I believe and I feel like my body is 50. I am not joking. If you're guessing why I am feeling that way, allow me to explain.

Last week, I pay QEII a visit with my friends. I drank quite a lot of beers that night, slept at 4 maybe 4 something and woke up at 12. This week, or yesterday, I pay UPR a visit. First stop was at Soi11, we ordered a tower. Next stop was at Smokey Jacks. Over at Smokey's, we ordered 5 jugs, which is about 2 tower. Again, I drank quite a lot of beers too. After that, everyone went their own way. Me, Alan and Nic went to mamak for some roti telur tambah cheese. I reached home at about 330 and slept about 4.

I woke up this morning at 9. That said, I only had 5 hours of sleep. At 11, I was already in the middle of sea, fishing. Sigh... not only was the catch bad, the sea condition was mad. Arghhh... and the mad waves made our nets into a mess. The entire net was messed up so badly by sea urchin, seashells, mussels, scallops, oysters and etc. We took the net up to shore at about 4pm. It took me and dad 4.5 hours to clear up all the mess. Reaching home at about 830pm. My hands are all injured, wounds and cuts due to the seashells. I am extremely worn out, freaking tired.

Anyway, for a normal guy, and when I say normal, I mean people who frequently sleep late, its okay. However for an abnormal guy like me, I don't know what to say. And living life pretty extreme, going out to sea for hours and enduring crazy waves... I am really exhausted. For your info, next week, this coming Saturday, my friends had already plan to go QEII again. LOL... The times we had there was so fun, we got hooked to it. LOL...

P/s: I want an LS2 Delta mono (silver). I need more cash. And Dr Eric Looi, my orthodontist is so going to get it from me [major midline shift, lost of anchorage, gaps caused by misaligned upper teeth and lower teeth]. Friends currently wearing braces under Dr Looi, I advise you to go get a second opinion from another certified orthodontist. Its very worth it.

All I really want to do ...

>> Thursday, July 30, 2009

Perhaps this song can help me express my feelings now.

All I really want to do is love you
A kind much closer than friends use
But I still cant say it after all we've been through
And all I really want from you is to feel me
As the feeling inside keeps building
And I will find a way to you if it kills me,
If it kills me

If I should be so bold
I'd ask you to hold my heart in your hand
Tell you from the start how I've longed to be your man
But I never said a word I guess I'm gonna miss my chance again

'Sesat Jalan' Club

>> Wednesday, July 29, 2009

It really beats me how I can go lost in Penang. Its such a joke that being such an informed guy about the roads in Penang, I too can go missing. Today, I officially join the "sesat jalan" club. Hmmm... haven't you heard of it? The president is none other than my mum. Ooops... I'm not suppose to say that, but since I did, might as well share with you guys. Mum can easily get lost when driving except familiar places like Gurney and Tanjung Bungah. Ask her to drive in Bayan Lepas, she will bring you to some other destination. Hahaha... [lets hope she doesn't find out about this or this will be the end of me]

So, after just one day of holiday, ONE DAY, I got so bored I decided to ride around Penang Island again. Hahaha... damn mou liu right? LOL. Anyway, being rather bored, I try to find roads that I've never used before. I found 2 today and all 2 leads me no where but forcing me to either make a U-turn or ride on the wrong side of the road heading against traffic. Hahaha... I am not joking. There was even a policeman scratching his head wondering what this crazy guy wearing a silver colored helmet, riding a purple colored bike going against traffic ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. Phewww, lucky me he didn't gave me ticket or saman. Sesat jalan la tuan, mintak maaf ya. Hahahaha...

First, I rode on one of the roads at Balik Pulau which the name is unknown to me. I've always reach the junction and take a left turn but I've decided, why don't I take a right turn today. Who knows where it might bring me. Hmmm... guess where it brings me to? BACK TO WHERE I STARTED. There is a small roundabout at Balik Pulau and again I always take the left turn, taking the road I'm familiar with. Nevertheless, I finally figure out that the so called "never used before" road brings me back to that small roundabout. Confusing? Complicating? That is just the beginning.

Next, instead of turning right and use the Batu Maung highway back, I opt to use the Bayan Lepas road. Passing the Penang airport on the opposite direction, I wasn't really too sure of what led me to make a U-turn and go to the airport. Hello, I got no reason to be there. LOL. Getting inside the airport, I sesat lagi. I can't find my way out. So, I rode against traffic, on the wrong side of the road. LOL. There was where I met the policeman too. At last, I did manage to squeeze my way through and get back on the road.

Soon after, I drop by Kelly Services. Hmmm... its been like 2 months since I last went there. Things have change. Faizal is no longer working there. I was introduced to a female consultant. Well, she is pretty helpful and promised to find a job for me (yea...) but I've got to submit my resume to her. Later, after Kelly Services, again... I didn't know what happened to me. Out of a sudden, I just wanna go to INTI. On my way to INTI, I missed a junction which I was suppose to turn into and overshot. Guess what? Riding on the wrong side of the road against traffic again lo. Hahaha. Did I reach INTI? Not quite yet, cause I made a left turn only to find out that the previous campus (i think) is now some USM bla~bla~ but I did reach INTI, safely in one piece. Hahaha... seriously, I've been laughing all the way back home some road user might think that this guy has gone nuts already. LOL!

Back to serious matter. I went to INTI and ask about their degree programs available. Not bad, I mean way much better than KDU. At least the counselor seems to be pretty honest and his words does seem to be believable. 3+0 BA of Commerce, a twinning program with Curtin University. Its actually not bad. Hmmm... can consider. Ya know the previous dilemma I faced? Perhaps if something happens, I wouldn't mind going to INTI.

I've been on a downloading spree again lately. Downloaded two Andy Lau's movie in just 2 days, believe it or not. Ahhh, I have some trick up my sleeve to cheat Megaupload. No download limits despite being a free user. First movie is Needing You, starring Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng. Not bad, 3.5 out of 5 stars. Quite entertaining. The movie does feature a few of my favorite bikes, the NSR250SP, the RVF400 and the Ninja ZX400RR. Second movie is a classic. A Moment of Romance, starring Andy Lau again and Wu Chien Lien. Good. Meaningful. Touching. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Bike featured in the movie is also wonderful, and I insist wonderful, the legendary square-four RG500. Damn I want that bike. And the trademark scene, riding on Shoei helmet fetching a 17 year old chick wearing a bridal gown, awww... no words to describe it.

Alright. I guess that's it for this post. I've crapped a lot already. Stay tune and come back in a few more days for updates.

Fussy people all over place

>> Monday, July 27, 2009

What a great way to kick start my holiday.

Saturday night, or you can say early Sunday morning, was spent at QEII with a bunch of friends. The music there was damn good, it was a DJ from Indonesia if I'm not mistaken. Geez... I drank quite a lot of beer that night, but was still standing... or maybe not. Hahaha... I don't know... but I was pretty aware I talk a lot of nonsense. Hahaha...

I reach home at about 3 something maybe 4, I wasn't really sure. Bathed and went to bed and slept like a dead man until 12 in the afternoon. LOL. All and all, I had lots of fun that night. This may be my first time, but it ain't going to be the last. Hmmm... minus the puffing part. What was I thinking???

Sunday night, visits from friends. Tutorial for management accounting and introduction to IT. Well, not really tutorial. Hahaha... more like chit chatting and joking around. Slept late again. 1 something, wasn't sure again but all I know was that I had to wake up at 7 something in the morning.

Did I manage? Hell yea I did. Off to work at 8:30am. Wahhh!!! met a very very very ... still insisting very fussy American at Batu Ferringhi. Duh!!! never in my life have I met such a fussy person. 11:30am change working venue to Greenlane, Condo Gembira this time. The security there also very fussy lo. Identification Card la, driving license la... yoooorrr... I am not a burglar la... not there to rob anyone.

Back home at 3:30pm. Bathed, blogging and now, I am off to bed.

Its Friday

That's it. A long journey that started at the end of March 07 has finally ended today. I, CK, has finally completed my first diploma which took me 2 years and 4 months of my teenage life. Hmm... as happy as I seem to be in college after the final paper, it is all but fake as now, as I am blogging now, my future is still uncertain. Despite having decided that I will continue to pursue my degree, I am unable to make up my mind about which university to join and when to join. Sigh... I think I'll leave this issue aside.

Anyway, back to what I've decided to do after my finals today. I thought I want to go for another motorcycle ride around the Penang island. But... plan canceled. Why...???

Road tax has expired (english)
Cukai jalan sudah mati (bahasa malaysia)
Road tax see liau la...(english + hokkien)

What to do? I have forgotten that my bike's road tax will expire on July 22 and today is already July 24. Never mind, I shall renew my road tax(coax mum to renew it for me later) and go for the ride tomorrow.

As for now, I want to go get some sleep. Hahaha... I need a long and peaceful rest... (not that I want to rest six feet under like our dear MJ)

ANGER MANAGEMENT

>> Monday, July 20, 2009

ANGER MANAGEMENT. This is what I need.

Lately, I think (I think only la) that I have transformed from a very calm guy (relatively) into a very hot-tempered monster. Every single tiny conflict will spark rage in me and I'll start to curse and yell and shout and complain and go on and on and on about it. This has got to come to an end before I get myself into any serious matter, eg. a fist fight with a Russian mafia that will kill me instantly (not that I have the balls to fight a Russian mafia, lol)Grrr... I wonder what is causing me to over-react to every single thing...

First of all, I got into a fight with dad. It has been hours and soon it will become days before we even talk to one another. What causes it is no longer important. But do I think that I am right. Oh yesss... of course, CK is always right. Am I right? Hahahaha... But still, I didn't think that I've made any comments which is too rough or too ugly for the ear to listen so I am not at fault for this.

This morning, I over-reacted again in college. Its the STUPID library this time. Other people/group are allowed to extend their hours for the discussion room, starting from 9 in the morning up until 3 in the afternoon. That is fine. I tried to renew the room I accessed and I was denied renewal because I went late in renewing it. So what the fuck is this. You know what, I am going to college tomorrow, early in the morning, be the first person to step into the library, get a room and book it for the entire day up until 7 in evening, until they close. I'll see if that bitch has anything to say to me. If it is allowed today, it must be allowed tomorrow. Grrr... I am not ready to lose this fight, and I ain't losing it.

P/S: That bitch called us back 5 minutes later after we were denied access to the discussion room through cellphone to tell us that they had made a mistake and that we can have the room. TOO LATE. (scared of me already hor? just you wait)

Nothing related to anger management. I went and visit the temple at Kampar road to pray to the ... I am not sure what to type here. Buddha right, buddha I think. My first visit there. Hmmm... spent about 20 minutes there and received a string to tie on my right hand (for blessing or something like that).

Its final week of college for me. 4 more days to go. 3 more days of exams. Busy preparing myself for the exam, so I guess my next update will be on Friday. Guess the first thing I will do after exam on Friday is go for another (yet another) motorcycle ride around Penang island. Then head to beach. Get myself a decent dinner at a decent restaurant, solo (unless someone, preferably young and pretty and innocent girls who wants to join me, hahaha [stop dreaming CK]) and head back to sleep like a pig. We shall see if all that does really happen.

Final day, diploma

>> Thursday, July 16, 2009

Hoorayyy... but at the same time, sigh...

Hoorayyy as I've finally complete 2 years and 4 months in KDU. I, have finally completed my diploma (an early declare) and I am extremely relieved (last presentation today) despite I still have the final battle awaiting for me next week (final exam).

Its pretty amazing how fast time flies. 2 years and 4 months ago, I was a complete no lifer with nothing in my mind, no aims in life but just the thought of lazing at home and go "measure" the road, hahaha. Well, I dare to say that my life will never ever be the same again after such a long period in college. Having met all kinds of people and to learn from them, its a fact that cannot be challenged nor denied that the outside world is not as simple as what we perceive it to be.

Well, today being the last day of lecture, nothing special really happened (not that I hope that something will happen). Perhaps people have conditioned themselves (like I did) that all meetings do end with partings and that this end marks a new beginning for all of us. Degree. Work. Marriage. Yes. Don't be shock. Most would definitely further their education and continue to pursue a degree, few others might join the workforce and contribute to the nation's GDP(hahaha) and yes, one or two will get married. I'm not joking. As for me, I don't really know. Pursuing a degree is certainly not the only option I've got, I am really split. Marriage, nahhh... don't think so. Hahahaha... [deep inside my heart: CK up for sale, any buyers???]

A few post back, I spoke of a dilemma that was plaguing me. Well, I am afraid to say that the thing that I fear most is going to happen. "He" is going to do it. Yes, with a confidence interval of 95%, LOL. Hmm... I didn't really spoke to him, he didn't really discussed it with me, perhaps I am the one who is thinking too much? I don't really know. That is why they always tell me and I always forget that as human, we plan but being God, HE decides. Sigh, time is running out for me. Having seen so many of my friends who are 20 years plus and still haven't accomplish any significant success in life, I do not want to end up like them. I can't afford to end up like them. Someone or anyone out there, perhaps you can help me clear up my mind. Tell me what to do...

RTD/JPJ, CK.a.student hate you

>> Tuesday, July 14, 2009

I hate the road transport department and the officers there.

As you've read from the previous post, I've sold away the Suzuki FX125. In the process of selling the bike to the shop, I had to go to the road transport department (JPJ la, in bahasa) to sign the paper works and for the officers to verify that the vehicle does belong to me and that I've the right to sell it and I've sold it to the shop. Hmm... a simple procedure took me hours. It depends on you whether I am exaggerating as hours here, I meant an hour and a half. But the thing is, all I had to do was to sign that piece of paper/document in front of him. Just one signature and I had to wait 1.5 hours.

Bear with me as I'm not done yet. Why was the waiting so long one may ask. Well, there were at least 40 people, like me who needs to sign the document in front of the officer. 40 people and the entire RTD/JPJ department only assigned one officer for the job. ONE. Next is the size of the office. 40 people, there were only 8 chairs. Being a young and healthy teenager, I don't mind standing. But then, another big shot officer came to all of those who were standing to stand outside the office as it was too cramped. Standing outside under the freaking hot sun. I am really boiling!!! Then there was no system, no order. You don't have to take numbers and wait for turns. An argument nearly ensued because people were cutting the lines.

There is another thing which I can't bear seeing was that corruption still happen. To get all the things done immediately, you just have to fork out RM80. Yes, you pay RM80 and you get to go to the "fast lane". But the thing is, sometimes, when no one is willing to fork out RM80 to utilize the "fast lane", the least these officers could do to clear their sins was to help the senior citizens. Damn, waiting with me, standing under the hot sun was about five elders who were at least 60 years and above. Come on, have some sympathy for the elders, they deserve the priority. You can't expect a 60 plus elder to stand and wait for hours just to sign a document in front of you, you idiot officers.

Haihz, and I thought a while ago the government sectors had this policy where the physically challenged and elders are prioritized. Yet, the government is lauding about how much they had improved on the efficiency of the government sector. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI), ya right. Before I end this post, I just have to say I hate the officers (again...) They are bloody snobbish pigs. PIGS. The way they walk, the tone they use with you when they talk, ehhh... don't cross the line and I have to remind you pigs that your salary do come from the taxes that we pay (my dad pay, I don't). Grrr...

There goes the CyberSport

>> Monday, July 13, 2009

Today is one of the saddest day in my life as the motorcycle I love most in my family is sold, making way for a new bike.

Approximately 2 years ago, after much begging and asking, dad finally agree to buy me one of the best underbone motorcycle available on sale in the market. The bike I'm talking about here is the Suzuki FX125. Hailed from the CyberSport series, dubbed the King of Moped years before Yamaha came out with their 135LC, this bike will butcher any 4 stroke mopeds in a drag race (ya know the traffic light, hahaha). What made the bike so powerful was its engine which back then was and still is today, the most technology-equipped in an underbone. Using a double overhead cam complete with 4 valves, oil-cooled with a 26mm CV carburettor the bike boast approximately 14 hp and it has full racing clutch with 5 speed gearbox. Its handling is also commendable having short wheelbase and monoshock on the rear. Ahh... I can go on and on talking non-stop about this bike.

Suzuki FX125 CyberSport, love that Enkei alloy wheels

Hmm... after 2 years serving me, the bike's condition was getting from bad to worse. THE ENGINE which is the gem of the bike unfortunately is also its Achilles heel. This bike requires more maintenance compared to any other mopeds. At last, which is today, reluctantly, I had to sell away the bike. I am very sad. Sigh, I am going to miss the sound of its engine and that wonderful alloy sportrim from Enkei. Truly a legend bike, at least for me. Love for the FX always and forever. Hahahaha... (you probably thinking this guy is a maniac for loving his bike so dearly, LOL)

Anyway, there will be a new bike that will join the family. Its the Suzuki Shogun 125 RR. This bike is very handsome by all means. Front and rear alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes, SOHC (not DOHC) 125 cubic centimetre engine just to mention a few main attractions of the bike. Well, like I've said, its a RR model so this one has a centrifugal clutch which is easier to ride and maintain unlike its SP sibling which has a manual clutch. Hmm... a review about the bike shall pop up soon enough in this blog as I might be getting the bike tomorrow. So meanwhile, take a look at the pictures of the bike.

Suzuki Shogun RR, too bad they don't have the fuel-injected models in M'sia.

Hmm... scratching my head cont. (boring)

>> Thursday, July 09, 2009

Hmm... bored. I just came back from dinner and here I am sitting my skinny ass in front of the laptop figuring out what to do. Well, I am out of songs to listen to, out of websites to browse and got bored of watching series online. Then... a thought came to my mind. Well, it has something to do with what Dr. Kow said in the program review meeting held recently.

In the meeting, Dr. Kow noted that there were a few students who commented on how boring the lecturers are. He somehow suspected those who commented on this was those who had no interest in the lecture and at the same time, were the culprits that make noise during the lecture. Well, I presume he suspects them (if I'm wrong, then sorry la Dr. Kow). Anyway, it was clear to him that in a lecture, there lies two groups of student, one who is very interested and one who is not. He suggested or at the very least he voiced out one of the most absurd, non-sensical suggestion which I've never expected from him which is to split the class into two groups based on their interest/academic performance or any criteria deemed fit. It is important for me to make it clear here that he did mention that such a move is discriminatory.

Why do I say that the move is the most absurd, non-sensical suggestion? First of all, who is to decide which student belongs into which group. Second, based on which criteria will the student be judged on. Third, would there be any double standard considering that all students are required to pay the same amount of tuition fee. And the list goes on and on. I even heard one of my friends said that it was like a secondary school and I just had to agree with her. LOL. I can't imagine looking at the time table, seeing two classes of Malaysian Economics, "kelas" 1A and 1b. LOL.

Furthermore, what are they trying to achieve with such measure? Improve the quality of the education here? How much would the quality increase by and does it justify such a controversial move? I reckon they would be better off at increasing the quality of the education by looking for more experienced lecturers. Don't you guys agree? Hehehehe...

That's it. I missed this one out in the previous post. Hahaha... Anyway, I am facing a very big dilemma. I am going to keep it a secret for now until its confirmed. Until it is confirmed. Haiz... life... it can change so fast and the change can be so drastic but the agent that sparks that change is just a simple word and that word is 'Yes'.

Hmmm... scratching my head

>> Tuesday, July 07, 2009

A program review. What on earth is a program review? What is the purpose of a program review?

So these are the few questions that I ask myself after attending one of the program review meeting today. One would wonder why I ask such questions. Well to be honest, it was rather funny that the program review is nothing much but a session for the students to listen to Dr. Kow telling us what we wrote in the program review survey. Hmmm ... (scratching my head...) why do we wanna know that since we are the ones who wrote it...

Never mind. That aside. I wonder why Dr. Kow or Cik Ismazeta (lecturer/clerk/assistant/whatever) are telling us that they are making progress, implementing changes and taking actions to improve on the future diploma program. Read that carefully, future diploma program. Hmmm... (scratching my head again...) we are students who are expecting to complete the program within 2 weeks. Within 2 weeks. Why are you telling us something about 2011 when we are obviously not interested nor bothered to know about it.

Next. I talked a lot during the program review. Whatever I said may not be substantial or perhaps its utter bullshit. Having taken 3 english papers I find that they are useless. Now, the new 2009 batch (keep in mind, I am from batch 2007) are required to take only 2 english papers which I believe is useless again. Suggesting that the diploma program to have students taking IELTS or TOEFL or MUET in the course in pursuing diploma is what I think would be a good idea. Well, being a freshman previously, I don't have any exposure to all these. The college should expose the students to all these, and perhaps making it compulsory for them to complete the aforesaid english requirement tests before they can be granted a diploma.

To justify this, first, KDU has the bragging right to say that all of the business students here have or are required to complete the english test before being granted their diploma which ensures their high proficiency in English. Though these english test may not be done in KDU, I believe KDU can find ways to affliate or cooperate with institutions that do offer these english tests. Secondly, if KDU do implement this measure, then I do believe they are living up to its moto, which is good and honest education. I believe most if not all students today view diploma merely as a ticket for them to enter into undergrad programs in the future. As such, this measure will go a long way in helping the students. The students will be well prepared and qualified for enrollment into any universities be it a local or a foreign uni.

Before I end this post, if you're going to have a program review meeting, do take criticism positively. If you're going to be a sore loser, then there is no point for us to even be there at the meeting. That's it. I have spoken enough for the past 2 years. I have voiced out countless of times, in good faith... and some in ... (you know la), hoping that they will improve things one day. As much as I hate the college, I want the college to be a great one in the future. When that day comes, I hope I can stand up proudly and brag with my friends "hey, your kawan here was an ex-student there, respect la... and hell did he enjoyed every moment of it".
